Kedarkantha Trek - The first trek of ma life..!!!

View of the neighbouring peaks   Overview "Kedarkantha Trek - It's in the Himalayas - Can be done by first timers" - This was all I knew before giving the consent to join some of my friends who were going on this trek. I was so excited about the idea of trekking that I instantly said yes. The mountain Kedarkantha (~3800 m. or 12500 ft.) is located in the Govind WLS, Uttarakhand, India. Kedarkantha trek is one of the very treks that are open even in the peak winters. The total distance of the trek is close to 23 km. and takes 4 days. The trek to the summit of Kedarkantha is touted to be blessed with incredible views and pretty campsites. Journey Day 1: Feb 15, 2017 - Reaching Mussoorie via Dehradun 17 of us from ISB (Indian School of Business), Hyderabad reached Mussoorie by 7:30 PM. Singur Dam – The ‘Beer Machi’ Trip

Our Journey: Trip Date: Saturday, January 21, 2017 It was one of the rarest days in ISB when we had absolutely no work and decided to step out of the campus to break the routine. I vaguely remember how we narrowed it down to this lesser known place in Telangana – Singur Dam , situated approximately 76 km. from the city (via ORR). None of us had any idea about the place. We just wanted to go and explore. We planned to leave by 6 in the morning but naturally, the lazy fellows that we are, we started at 9:30. With one 30 min. break for breakfast we reached the destination by 12 PM. On reaching we realized that mercury was quite high and it was too hot to handle the temperature. Cursing ourselves for making such a plan, we started walking towards the dam. Few steps on top of the dam, cool breeze greeted us. Woooaaaaaahhhh… much needed at that moment.
